The article makes an attempt to characterize a Polish language teacher who works in a secondary school. The author uses Polish les­sons reports which teachers fill out and tries to make generalizations concerning methodological solutions intro­duced by the teachers.  Opinions of Polish language teachers who implement objectives developed as a part of ‘Tools in Action’ programme were used to analyse such elements of a lesson as: motivation situation, the topic of a lesson or innovations introduced by the teachers to already prepared lesson plans. The teachers’ comments and suggestions which were included in the reports allowed to characterize the image of a Polish language teacher and to describe selected areas of lessons. Due to their realization the perception of an educational thought inscribed within the idea of teaching as extensive humane project is possible during the Polish lessons in second­ary schools.

This paper presents the author’s position on the mechanisms of management of education research at the regional level the key feature of which is their social nature. In accordance with theprocesses of globalization, the construction of the European research and education space, the objectives of which are intended to achieve some new quality of education, the author focuses on the holisticresearch programs as strategies for managing education research, science laboratories as a form of a network research organization, negotiation platforms as a possible form of social planning andresearch expertise in democratic governance.

In the paper, I discuss selected aspects of the activities of the Polish Educational Research Association, hereinafter referred to as PTP (http://www.ptp-pl.org; Polish Educational Research Association, PERA) for the development of pedagogical sciences in Poland and the popularization of achievements in Poland and abroad in the period 2017-2020. In the paper, I point out only a few examples of tasks carried out by the Board of Directors of the PERA, which are part of the broad spectrum of its activities manifested in scientific, organizational and programming activities and publishing and popularization of scientific achievements. I pay special attention to the Society’s characteristics, goals and methods of operation, its members and field branches. In the second part of the article I discuss the priorities for the activities of the PERA’s General Board in the years 2017-2020 and the most important achievements.

W niniejszym tekście przedmiotem omówienia czynię wybrane aspekty działalności Polskiego Towarzystwa Pedagogicznego, dalej w skrócie: PTP (http://www.ptp-pl.org; ang. Polish Educational Research Association, PERA) na rzecz rozwoju nauk pedagogicznych w Polsce i popularyzacji osiągnięć w kraju i poza jego granicami w latach 2017–2020. W artykule wskazuję tylko na nieliczne przykłady zadań zrealizowanych przez Zarząd Główny Polskiego Towarzystwa Pedagogicznego, wpisujące się w szerokie spektrum jego działania przejawiającego się w działalności naukowej, organizacyjno-programowej i wydawniczo-popularyzatorskiej. Szczególną uwagę poświęcam w pierwszej kolejności charakterystyce, celom i sposobom działania Towarzystwa, członkom i oddziałom terenowym PTP. W drugiej części artykułu omawiam priorytety działania Zarządu Głównego PTP w latach 2017–2020 i najważniejsze jego osiągnięcia.
