O wizerunkach św. Stanisława Kostki SJ w polskiej tradycji hagiograficzno-literackiej

The article presents selected hagiographic and literary images of St. Stanisław Kostka, which have been created in the 450 years since the death of the Saint in Rome in 1568. The author of the article discusses the works of Stanisław Warszewicki, Grzegorz of Sambor, Piotr Skarga, Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewski and Cyprian Kamil Norwid, the creators of the Jesuit school theater and plays for the young of the period between World War I and II, as well as of Zofia Kossak, Józef Warszawski, Jan Śledzianowski and Przemysław Wysogląd. The presented variety of representations and genres of writings devoted to St. Stanisław Kostka shows how strongly the Saint of Rostków inspired Polish artists in various cultural and historical epochs. And his person, recorded in Polish hagiography and fiction from the 16th century to the present day, still evokes new works adapted to the spirit of the times.

Artykuł przedstawia wybrane, hagiograficzno-literackie wizerunki św. Stanisława Kostki, jakie powstały w okresie 450 lat upływających od śmierci świętego w Rzymie w 1568 r. Autor artykułu omawia dzieła Stanisława Warszewickiego, Grzegorza z Sambora, Piotra Skargi, Macieja Kazimierza Sarbiewskiego, Cypriana Kamila Norwida, twórców jezuickiego teatru szkolnego i sztuk dla młodzieży z okresu międzywojennego, a także Zofii Kossak, Józefa Warszawskiego, Jana Śledzianowskiego i Przemysława Wysogląda. Ta zaprezentowana różnorodność przedstawień i gatunków piśmiennictwa poświęconego św. Stanisławowi pokazuje, jak mocno w różnych epokach kulturowych i historycznych Święty z Rostkowa inspirował polskich twórców. A jego postać, utrwalona w polskiej hagiografii i literaturze pięknej od XVI w. do czasów współczesnych, wciąż wzbudza nowe dzieła dostosowane do ducha czasów.
