This article presents the outcomes of the research conducted among teachers which main aim was the answer to the question about using information-communication technologies in the teaching process. Pursuant to them, it was stated that the degree of the use of modern technologies in the field of widely known school education is not satisfactory. However, the majority of respondents notice the necessity of functioning schools in digital sphere. The methods of work demand constant adopting to the changing environment, utilizing available resources in a creative way. The ubiquity of information-communication technologies imposes their consideration on successive generations as well as paying attention to skilful usage of contents conveyed through the agency of it. An educationalist aware of his role, should discern both negative and positive aspects of introducing modern technologies in the educational process, remembering that their skilful usage may contribute to the optimization of the learning process.

The implementation of modern tools in the military system constitutes an important step in supporting the decision-making process. The impact of new GIS technologies is important for the assessment of the battlefield . According to assumptions, reconnaissance is a continuous process that crowns the assessment of the opponent and of the battlefield. Site assessment is an element of the command process where the conclusions of the task analysis includes an assessment of the potential opponent together with his modus operandi and an assessment of the environment . As part of the Information Preparation of the Battlefield (hereinafter referred to as IPB), the identification of threats and limitations has an impact on the identification of potential approach routes, traffic corridors and maneuvers in assigned areas and lanes . The end result is the determination of the maneuverability of forces and resources owned or those of the opponent. The information is to relate to the impact of the terrain components on the scope and nature of conducted activities, and the hydrometeorological conditions are to relate to the impact on the terrain, equipment, and people . As far as it regards the analysis of the environment and the opponent, it is possible to apply modern technologies to shorten the time for the analyses performed within the ongoing decision-making process.

The information contained in this article is still open. Sustainable development is an idea whose goal is to achieve sustainable and sustainable socio-economic and political development with respect and protection of the natural environment. In order to achieve its goal, the idea must become a necessity. Sustainable development is an interdisciplinary and multi-faceted issue, therefore this article presents how sustainable development can play a preventive role in the risk of social ties and relations in the information society era. Currently, the role of sustainable development in the sociopsychological aspect is little emphasized. The article deals with the issues of threats to social relations and ties that are generated by modern technologies appearing in the information society, distinguishing their psychological, technical, medical, legal, social and contemporary character, and at the same time combining the assumptions of sustainable development, which through preventive action may contribute to the social order in terms of balancing the development of relations between social ties in the real and virtual dimensions of human social life.

The article studies modern technology solutions in armament systems concerning their use by the police, border guard and other services of social security. It presents new possibilities of surveillance conduct using sensors of various frequencies. It mainly focuses on the use of terahertz wave band in devices detecting dangerous objects.It also shows that the police can widely use infrared rays, esp. while conducting surveillance, searching for people on land and under the water, searching for drugs and explosives. Apart from thermo-detectors used at present introduction of optical detectors is suggested. First of all, it concerns photon detectors made of semiconductive materials as they are defined by a higher sensibility and response reaction than thermo-detectors. Nowadays they are developing various detectors in the shape of matrix detectors used in the thermo-imaging systems with mechanic scanning as well as electronic scanning which is applied in the production of observation devices with digital correction of thermo-vision.One of the new technologies employed by the police is acoustic sensors that can be used to detect and identify objects, define the type of weapons and missiles, recognize the speech and identify speakers. Scientists analyze and develop different acoustic techniques, mainly sensory techniques which use volumetric and surface sound waves propagating in diverse environments. Acoustic sensors are indispensable in optical and radio detection of parameter changes in opaque environment.Besides, the author pays attention to possibilities to use of lasers to detect dangerous substances at far distances. He also analyses the increasing importance of “non-lethal weapons” in the police and other services, e.g. use of acoustic and electromagnetic devices.

The proposal of introducing new technologies in the engineer academic teaching for the transport infrastructure engineering run at the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław since 2012 is presented. The attention was given to the two main issues: − improvement of attraction and effectiveness of professional internships, − introduction of digital tools in education of transport infrastructure engineers. The collaboration with research institutes and rail and road authorities in to order to realize master’s theses is proposed. The procedure of realization of the master’s thesis is analysed. The e-learning ideology was presented, in particular: the service system, the participants of e-learning system, authorization of participants, kinds of didactic materials and the manner of their preparation, the kinds of courses and evaluation systems (tests, analysis of tasks, and also the manner of assessment of participants activity, by means of e.g. a questionnaire). Special attention was give to didactic staff’s participation in courses on methods and techniques of distance education.

The aim of this article is to show the opportunities which new technologies offer in overcoming communication barriers in regards to people experiencing multiple disabilities. The solutions that new technologies bring can constitute one of the forms of resistance to the dominant model of perceiving disability and thus provide space for a particular resistance to the practices of discrimination and exclusion from the society of people experiencing disability, therefore entering into the emancipatory stream. Including the emancipation category into the emerging process of new technology allows us to create a broader theoretical context through which we can give it a new meaning - another dimension, i.e.: new technologies - emancipation ones: adopting such a vision gives new technology a technical dimension. By instilling the proposed position in the field of special education, we can contribute to the exploration of the potential that exists in every human-being regardless of the type or degree of specific disability.

Today’s children, so-called Digital Natives (digital natives), in contrast to their parents and teachers, who are called Digital Immigrants (digital immigrants), live in the world of media. Their childhood is strongly related to the TV. Afterwards they enter the world of the Internet, computer games, mobile phones. The tools that are in use are in their major part shaped by a man so the involvement of the younger generation in the world of the media has significant impact on the process of education. The article discusses the impact of the media on the formation of two types of intelligence — the cognitive and the emotional ones, that are most strongly associated with education. These effects have both the cultural and the neuronal level. The paper presents the process of education in the world dominated by media as a situation that educators are supposed to deal with, and takes into account the need to implement education for rational and responsible use of the media.

This article aims at introducing the issue of teaching Russian to children in a primary school and at the same time it is an attempt to answer the question – how to work with the young learners in order to establish a bedrock on which their further education will be based? The article provides us with the most important aspects of the work with children such as: learning through play and movement or learning through new technologies as tools fostering the modern process of language teaching as well as enhancing the attractiveness and effectiveness of the didactic activities. The article also contains examples of the didactic games taken from everyday experience of the author during her work with learners in the primary school.

Делается попытку ответить на вопрос – как работать с детьми, чтобы выработать основу, на которой будет базировать их будущее языковое обучение? В работе мы знакомимся с важнейшими аспектами работы с детьми: учёбой с использованием дидактических игр, учёбой с применением мультимедийных техно- логий – орудиями, поддерживающими языковое обучение, повышающими привлекатель- ность и эффективность дидактических задач. Статья содержит много примеров языковых игр на уроке русского языка, возникшими на основе ежедневного опыта работы автора с детьми в начальной школе.

The purpose of this research is to present some recreational games and activities that use modern technologies. They can be used as alternative forms of outdoor recreation and educational activities, in order to promote this area of recreational activity in the modern physical culture. The authors attempted to determine whether people with mobile phones equipped with GPS know of the games and activities possible with it. The most popular games and outdoor games with a GPS module and modern computer technology are: Geocaching, Shutterspot, Geodashing Golf, and GeoVexilla. The study was performed on an arbitrarily selected group of 80 people aged 16 to 50 years old. An interview and diagnostic survey method was used to perform this research.

The Covid-19 pandemic triggered a general implementation of social distancing. According to UNESCO’s data, schools have been closed in 165 countries. Pursuant to a decision of the Polish government of 12 March 2020, classes in educational establishments were suspended throughout Poland. The Internet, viewed from the beginning of its existence as a source of numerous threats and also of unprecedented access to information, became a tool enabling the continuity of educational activity. In the present reality, teachers facing social distance, confronted by challenges at work are also evaluated by students. The present article, based on empirical studies, contains secondary school students’ opinions on the subject of the quality of distance learning. Critical opinions result explicitly from the fact that they are expressed by people having “digital attachment to modern technology” and possess heir own equipment with unlimited network access. This unprecedented state of emergency emphasizes most teachers’ unpreparedness for switching overnight to the online mode, which should not come as a surprise to anybody, because reliable preparation for distance classes involves not only the skill but also planning and proper preparation of teaching materials. Importantly, during online learning students begin to miss other people and interaction with their teachers, which emphasizes the importance of direct human relations, unduly underrated in “normal reality”. Regardless of various opinions on the subject of distance learning, it is obvious that forced switching to online learning can nd even be a catalyst of change in the educational field.

The article addresses the issues relating to the operations of the police Cold Case Units as well as the role of modern forensic tools in solving cases that were dismissed at the pre-trial stage, due to a failure to detect the perpetrators. The second part of the article describes selected methods and tools used at different stages of the X-Files investigations. The innovative solutions described are classified according to the place and purpose of application. Aim: The Covid-19 pandemic situation has affected all sectors of our society that have been in direct or indirect contact with humans. The virtual world, which did not concern many people until the onset of the pandemic, began to be a major part of the solutions to everyday situations in life. Modern technologies thus began to play a major role in solving problem situations, but also in the ordinary contact of people with the school, with medical facilities, with work, in communication with other close relatives. Concept: The use of modern technological equipment and their connection to the pandemic situation began to be of interest in the professional and research investigation of scientists working in various areas of life. In addition to the use of modern technological equipment, other more abstract ideas have begun to be explored, reflecting and commenting on, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of using equipment on the basis of age, ability and industry. Scientific studies are thus carried out from the point of view of sociology, gender studies, psychology, psychiatry, medicine, social work, but also other inhumane scientific branches. Method: This study addresses the advantages and disadvantages of using modern technology and points to a number of studies that positively or negatively affect a person's personality through the virtual world. The authors of this study worked with specific texts, using textual analysis, analytical and synthetic methods, and pointed out important studies that draw attention to the connection between the social situation and the use of modern technologies. Results: The study confirms that the pandemic situation requires constant access to virtual reality through modern technological devices that allow all people in society to contact each other, regardless of age, gender, job classification, or position, role. At the same time, it is very important how we will incorporate modern technologies into our lives and what impact modern devices will have on survival and on the real world. Conclusion: The scientific articles and contributions offered in this study point to the use of technological devices, their advantages and disadvantages for the development of human personality. It is understandable that the virtual world can interfere with our personal and family life, while it is necessary to realize its basic functions, which it offers us for our benefit.

Od powodzenia tego przedsięwzięcia zależeć będzie jego realizacja w przyszłości na szerszą skalę. Z tego też względu system edukacji stoi przed ogromną szansą na unowocześnienie i pełne dostosowanie do wymogów społeczeństwa informacyjnego. W pierwszej części autorzy opisują ogólne założenia programu. Druga część natomiast przedstawia szerzej zagadnienie e-podręcznika oraz zagrożenia, jakie mogą wynikać z jego nieodpowiedniego stosowania.

In the following article the authors thoroughly discuss the “Digital school” pilot program, which was first introduced in the school year 2012/2013. Its future implementation at schools on a larger scale is entirely dependent on its success. Therefore, the education system needs to face both the challenge and opportunity to upgrade and fully adjust to the requirements and expectations of the information society. In the first part of the article the general objectives of the program are described by the authors. The second part is devoted to the issue of the e-textbooks and the risks which may result from its improper use.

After many years of effort and work to improve the situation, eliminate barriers in the lives of the deaf, developed the law on sign language. It is defined as a milestone in the struggle to improve their situation. Assistive technology for deaf people an opportunity to communicate their alignment with the rest of society. In the era of computerization there are solutions, offers a chance for the abolition of such barriers. Access to the Internet and mobile devices deaf improve communication with its surroundings. The following papers attempts an approximation of deafness as a disability and social groups, and then present the technical and technological foundation that with support communication. The proposal is a response to statutory requirements in relation to public bodies.

The article aims to explain the importance of 5G technology in pursuing power and shaping the international competition between two superpowers: the USA and China. Accordingly, the research focus of this article is to explain how and why 5G technology is being used by China and the U.S. as a key instrument in their growing geopolitical rivalry. The study is framed within the theoretical approach of offensive realism. It is based on the primary assumption that superpowers like China and the United States tend to increase their power not only by expanding their armed forces and territorial conquests but also by using every possible opportunity to do so. The article researches two questions. What is the importance of 5G technology in the rivalry between China and the U.S.? How has the development of communication technologies influenced countries and their ability to shape the international environment? 5G technology is considered more than just the next generation of wireless connectivity, as it goes beyond traditional forms of use and addresses a new category of users. It is a structure intended to facilitate a new category of goods and services: smart cities, autonomous vehicles, automated factories, digital services, and robotization of decision-making processes.

Cel: Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie na przykładzie Ekospalarni w Krakowie nowoczesnych rozwiązań pozwalających na tworzenie optymalnych i odpowiednio funkcjonujących logistycznie systemów gospodarowania stałymi odpadami. Metodyka badań: Do osiągnięcia celu wykorzystano metodę analizy literatury, metodę analizy wnioskowania logicznego, analizę teoretycznych i praktycznych aspektów zarządzania gospodarką odpadami oraz opis determinujących je czynników. Wyniki badań: Analiza zebranych danych wskazuje, że wdrażanie nowoczesnych rozwiązań związanych z transportem, segregacją oraz przetwarzaniem stałych odpadów znacznie poprawia logistyczne systemy gospodarowania odpadami w miastach i przyczynia się do osiągnięcia celów ekonomicznych, środowiskowych i społecznych. sprzyjając rozwojowi miasta i poprawie życia jego mieszkańców. Wnioski: Wprowadzanie innowacji w koncepcjach smart city jest zasadne, przyczyniają się one bowiem do lepszego zarządzania miastem oraz ułatwiają życie jego mieszkańców, redukując jednocześnie negatywny wpływ miasta na środowisko naturalne. Wkład w rozwój dyscypliny: Artykuł uzasadnia potrzebę prowadzenia badań nad wpływem innowacji technologicznych wykorzystywanych w logistycznych systemach gospodarowania odpadami. Praktyczne wnioski mogą mieć zastosowanie w poprawianiu jakości procesów logistycznych w innych miastach Polski.

Objective: Using the example of the Eco-incineration plant in Cracow, the article presents modern solutions that enable the creation of an optimal and logistically properly functioning solid waste management systems. Research Design & Methods: The subject was approached using a literature analysis, logical inference analysis, analysis of theoretical and practical aspects of waste management, and a description of the factors determining them. Findings: The use of innovative solutions in the transport, segregation, and processing of solid waste significantly improves the logistic waste management systems. Implications / Recommendations: The article concludes that implementing smart city solutions contributes to better urban management, facilitates life for inhabitants, and reduces the city’s negative impact on the environment. Hence such solutions are recommended. Contribution: The publication justifies the conducting of research on the impact of technological innovations used in urban management and smart cities. Practical conclusions can be used to improve the quality of logistics processes in cities.

The article presents the results of a logopedic diagnosis of young children’s speech (up to 3 years old). It was important for the researcher to find the answer to the question what influence modern technology has on the development of speech in young children. The original diagnostic questionnaire prepared by the author of the article has been expanded to include questions referring to modern technologies. The comparative study of young children with delayed speech development and the children who speak correctly, as well as interviews with their parents enabled the author to state whether and to what extent watching TV or videos on mobile phones and playing games on tablets can disturb verbal development of a child.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki diagnozy logopedycznej małych dzieci (do lat trzech). Dla badaczki istotne było znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, jaki wpływ ma nowoczesna technologia na rozwój mowy małych dzieci. Opracowany przez autorkę artykułu kwestionariusz wywiadu z rodzicami został poszerzony o pytania dotyczące nowoczesnych technologii. Zbadanie małych dzieci z opóźnionym rozwojem mowy oraz dzieci z mową w normie rozwojowej, jak również rozmowy z ich rodzicami pozwoliły porównać, czy i w jakim stopniu oglądanie telewizji lub filmów na telefonie, a także gry na tablecie mogą zaburzać rozwój werbalny dziecka.
