The article analyses changes in the quality parameters of products during storage in different storage conditions depending on the initial composition of the mixture of gases in the packaging. The storage test tests the changes in product quality parameters including the index of total sensorial quality, the acid value and the peroxide value. An estimated mathematical model of changes in the quality parameters of products in the product-packaging-environment system is the basis for determining the shelf life of packaged food products.

This is related to the fact that relatively good financial results can be achieved in this industry without adjustment of the maximum customer service. This fact is also confirmed by the findings that show that in comparison to companies in other sectors, tourism companies still perceive relationship between quality production and business performance as substandard.

This study dealt with the role of the Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary School Teaching (PGDT) program in improving the quality of teaching in Eastern Ethiopian secondary schools. The study used a mixed research design that integrated both qualitative and quantitative research methods concurrently. The data was collected from 140 respondents, comprised of 83 teachers and 57 school leaders (i.e., mentors, principals, and head teachers) of 14 secondary schools found in four zones of Eastern Ethiopia. The researchers used simple random sampling to select secondary schools, whereas teachers and school leaders were selected using purposive and expert sampling techniques respectively. Quantitative data was collected via a questionnaire and qualitative data through focus group discussion (FGD), interview, and observation. The data is analyzed both in a qualitative and a quantitative manner. The findings of the study showed that PGDT graduates seem to be contributing their part to enhancing quality education by raising high order thinking questions, implementing classroom activities such as: problem-solving, cooperative leaning, discussion and brainstorming, frequently managing the classroom for active learning implementation, using exercises to elicit students’ ideas, knowledge and skills and encouraging students to become active participants in classrooms. This is considered to be an encouraging trend for the desired improvement in teaching quality. The result of this study also demonstrated that PGDT graduates have good subject matter knowledge and apply it effectively in their classrooms. The grand mean of teachers’ and school leaders’ responses related with their subject matter knowledge is 4.33 and 3.81, respectively. This seemed to exist because of their undergraduate program; they have had an opportunity to attain various major courses in the three-year bachelor program. After that, in order to become a high school teacher, they had to attend a one-year or a two-summer long PGDT program to equip them with fundamental pedagogical skills. This is understood as the benefit of the new teacher-education program. Despite all of these facts and in contrast with the teachers’ response, the researchers observed that in most Eastern Ethiopia secondary schools teaching was dominated by traditional methods of teaching or lecturing. This approach makes students passive, less confident, unreflective and poorly motivated to enjoy learning. Furthermore, concerning students learning assessment, an inconsistency of application was observed. Therefore, the researchers suggested that the Ethiopian Ministry of Education, in collaboration with higher learning institutions and teacher-training colleges, would have to provide continuous training for secondary school teachers about student assessment, active and constructivist methods of teaching to enhance quality education and produce robust graduates fit for the 21st century world of work and consciousness.

The presentation refers to the entire area of translating legal terminology, in particular to the translation of EU law-related texts that are especially vital for translating the acquis communautaire. This area of translation (and interpreting) services has been developing rapidly. The language used in documents is specialist and, at the same time, specific, due to the terminology used. Both the translator and the interpreter face the responsibility and the obligation to observe and apply translation strategies, consistently selected and considering the already existing and valid names, terms, concepts, definitions etc., by means of such available sources of information as dictionaries, encyclopedias, lexicons or special glossaries. Problems that translators and interpreters may encounter focus, to a large extent, on (un)translatability of certain terms, ambiguity of EU-speak or textual coherence, or the absence of it, which results from unclear, vague or ambiguous style of the original. On the other hand, the challenge for the translator/interpreter is constant care of the quality of the text created in Polish, which substantially affects the standard level and quality of Polish that we use everyday. Quality is the concept in translation and interpreting closely related with successful performance and communication (with all its aspects). The attempt at quality description in this context, apart from subjective impressions resulting from our understanding of the importance of features that good - competent - translation and effective communication should have, cannot be devoid of focusing on three principal factors, i.e., the translator/interpreter (as the text author/producer), translation/interpreting process and product, which is the result of this process and, finally, involvement (and competence) on the part of the translator/interpreter. All the above aspects pose a real challenge for the translator/interpreter focusing on legal terminology.Selected aspects of the aforementioned issues shall be verified in a case study conducted on trainee interpreters.

The article highlights the tendencies of updating the content and methods of professional-pedagogical training of teachers in terms of educational services quality management. The analysis of the requirements for British teachers, laid in professional standards as a mandatory part of the policy of "new professionalism" is made. It is pointed out that professional standards developed by the Training and Development Agency for Schools cover three areas: professional attributes, professional knowledge and understanding and professional skills, formulated separately for teachers with different professional status, namely: award of Qualified Teacher Status – QTS (Q – standard); teachers on the main scale – Core (C); teachers on the upper pay scale – Post Threshold Teachers (P); Excellent Teachers (E) and Advanced Skills Teachers – ASTs (A). The standards provide the framework for a teacher’s career and clarify the progression in professional activity. In order to access each career stage a teacher will need to demonstrate that he/she has met the relevant standards. The process for this varies depending on the standards concerned. Teachers seeking status of Excellent Teacher or AST need to apply and be evaluated through an external assessment process. Teachers seeking to cross the threshold are assessed by the head teacher of their school. The standards for Post Threshold Teachers, Excellent Teachers and ASTs are pay standards and teachers who are assessed as meeting them also access the relevant pay scale. It is shown that the standards define the professional characteristics that must have any teacher at a certain stage of professional development. The models of teacher professionalism (effective teacher model, reflective teacher model, enquiring teacher model, transformational teacher model) are characterized which enable better understanding the status and trends of development of modern pedagogical education in the UK universities and the essence of professional development programs for teachers in schools. In the future the author considers important to define the innovative potential of the British experience of continuous professional development of teachers and the possibilities of its use in Ukraine.

Counsellors are important key members in Chinese universities. In this paper, on the one hand, we compared student affairs workers’ occupational characteristics, classification and development of western as well as Chinese university. On the other hand, Chinese university faculty members and students are our subjects. Of 800 pieces circulated, 537 pieces are found to be effective. We verified the reliability and validity of data, then conducted correlation analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The test has good reliability and validity. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient are all above 0.9, indicating that the actual value is in good accordance with the true value. The internal alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient of each factor are all above 0.8. Χ2/df<5. GFI, AGFI, NFI, CFI, IFI,RMSEA and the other indicators are fitting, and this test meets measurement requirements. A 5-factor model is formulated based on the research results, including: moral quality; professional competence; political awareness; instructive ability; interpersonal skills. This 5-factor model reflects the evaluation of faculty members and students in universities on qualities of counsellors and transformation in their expectation for the role counsellors play as time goes by.
