The purpose of the article is to present the results of empirical research concerning solutions used in the strategy implementation process by companies recognized as effective in achieving their strategic goals. Based on the results of the research, a model of improving the strategy implementation process was proposed. In the theoretical part the method of analysis and critical review of the literature was used. The technique used in the empirical study was PAPI. In order to investigate relationships, Cramer’s V coefficient was calculated. The main findings of the study allow us to conclude that there are some specific solutions from the following areas: organisational structure, communication and motivation, cooperation, implementation tools and methods, and control, which particularly effectively support the strategy implementation.

Celem opracowania jest przybliżenie dwóch modelowych ujęć wdrażania strategii oraz zaprezentowanie zarysu koncepcji badań nad procesem wdrażania strategii w polskich przedsiębiorstwach. W artykule posłużono się metodą analizy literatury z zakresu wdrażania strategii na potrzeby przedstawienia i omówienia modeli wdrażania strategii. W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz powstał zarys koncepcji badań empirycznych dotyczących implementacji strategii w polskich przedsiębiorstwach, który został zaprezentowany w ostatnim punkcie artykułu.

The main purpose of the article is to present and analyse two strategy implementation models and to describe an outline of the research concept on the process of implementing the strategies at Polish enterprises. In the article, there was used the method of analysis of the literature on the strategy implementation. The method of analysis was used for the purpose to present and discuss strategy implementation models. In result of analyses, there was created an outline of the concept of empirical research in the field of strategy implementation at Polish enterprises. The concept of empirical research is presented in the last paragraph of the article.

Цель разработки – приблизить два модельных подхода к внедрению стратегии и представить зарисовку концепции исследований по процессу внедрения стратегии на польских предприятиях. В статье испоьзовали метод анализа литературы в области внедрения стратегии для нужд представления и обсуждения моделей внедрения стратегии. В результате проведенных анализов возникла зарисовка концепции эмпирических исследований, касающихся внедрения стратегии на польских предприятиях, которую представили в последней части статьи.

W artykule zaprezentowano model wdrażania strategii, który powstał w wyniku przeprowadzenia badań empirycznych na grupie 200 polskich przedsiębiorstw. Grupę respondentów stanowili liderzy biznesu, którzy skutecznie wdrażają strategię rozwoju. Przeprowadzone badania potwierdzają, że nawet w wybitnych firmach z każdym elementem modelu powiązane są praktyczne problemy, których efektem są bariery wdrożeniowe i luka aplikacyjna strategii. Badania zrealizowano w ramach projektu pt. Wdrażanie strategii organizacji - model, uwarunkowania i implikacje finansowanego ze środków Narodowego Centrum Nauki (decyzja numer DEC-2011/03/B/HS4/04247).

The main purpose of the article is to present the strategy implementation model. The model is a result of empirical research based on a group of 200 Polish companies that are industry leaders and that can be considered as effective in the process of the strategy implementation. Empirical studies confirm that even outstanding companies suffer from practical problems related to elements of the presented model, which results in barriers and implementation gap of the strategy. The research was carried out within the project “The implementation of the strategy in the organisation - model, determinants and implications” funded by the National Science Centre (Decision number DEC-2011/03/B/HS4/04247).

В статье представили модель внедрения стратегии, возникшую в результате проведения эмпирических исследований на группе 200 польских предприятий. Группу респондентов представляли лидеры бизнеса, которые успешно внедряют стратегию развития. Проведенные исследования подтверждают, что даже в лучших фирмах с каждым элементом модели связаны практические проблемы, эффектом которых являются барьеры внедрения и аппликативная брешь стратегии. Исследование провели в рамках проекта Внедрение стратегии организации - модель, обусловленности и импликации, финансируемо- го за счет средств Национального центра науки (решение № DEC-2011/03/B/HS4/04247).

For many years, we have seen an increasing interest in corporate social responsibility (CSR). Within this concept, Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) is developing. This includes the emergence of stock indices of companies that meet the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements. Special stakeholders, such as investors, are paying more and more attention to the composition of stock exchange indices based on socially responsible companies. The presented paper discusses the topic of responsible investing in Poland, and its main aim is to analyze and evaluate the selection process of companies in the RESPECT Index and to present the evolution that has been made since its inception. However it cannot be clearly stated that the companies included in this index are characterized by a high level of implementation of CSR strategies. Stakeholders, especially investors potentially interested in investing in companies from this index, may feel some information insecurity associated with the description of the qualification of the companies in this index. They may also have some doubts as to the use of a survey to evaluate companies from ESG data.
