The paper addresses the aspect of lingua¬ culture and its role in teaching Polish among students with migration experiences at a Polish school. Polish as the language of school education serves as a tool used in the process of learning about the world, but it is also a guarantee of efficient social integration. Moving smoothly within the lingua¬ cultural sphere (deciphering cultural codes hidden in the language) in the case of users of the language who come from a different linguistic and cultural background enables free communication as well as a sense of connection with the host environment. The author supports this prop-osition with theoretical interpretations (Edward Sapir’s and Claire Kramsch’s views) as well as with practical experience of a foreign language teacher, using the example of selected literary texts (the work of Grzegorz Kasdepke).

The article deals with the topic of teaching Polish as a foreign language to Slovenes. The aim is to present the impact of the negative transfer on learning Polish by Slovenes and to discuss the errors they make due to interference. The material was excerpted from the written works of MA students of Polish Studies in Ljubljana. Negative transfer occurs at all levels of language education, also among students who are fluent in Polish. The article also presents effective strategies for working with Slovenes to eliminate negative transfer errors, i.e. a departure from a communication strategy in favour of a contrastive approach, translation tasks and exercises based on the technique of language drill.

W artykule podjęto tematykę nauczania Słoweńców języka polskiego jako obcego. Zaprezentowano wpływ transferu negatywnego na naukę polskiego przez Słoweńców oraz omówiono popełniane przez nich błędy wynikające z interferencji. Materiał został wyekscerpowany z prac pisemnych studentów studiów magisterskich na polonistyce w Lublanie. Transfer negatywny zachodzi na wszystkich poziomach nauki, także u uczniów biegle posługujących się językiem polskim. W artykule zaprezentowano również skuteczne strategie pracy ze Słoweńcami nad wyeliminowaniem błędów transferu negatywnego – odejście od strategii komunikacyjnej na rzecz podejścia kontrastywnego, zadań translatorskich i ćwiczeń opartych na technice drylu językowego.

The main aim of this paper is to present the various approaches to politeness research which have been documented by researchers from all over the word in last fifty years. In the first part of the article the author compares the most well-known and influential theories of politeness. Then the critique of these approaches is presented in details. In the next step the author examines new theories that arise after the discussion. These approaches are called postmodern and discursive. Part three of the paper focus on the concepts that presents different idea than postmodern or discursive paradigm. In the last part the author gives examples of the newest approaches to the research that studied linguistic politeness and also presents the impact these may have on Polish language glottodidactics.

Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ewolucji teorii grzeczności językowej na przestrzeni ostatnich pięćdziesięciu lat. W pierwszej części zestawiono ze sobą najważniejsze założenia trzech klasycznych teorii grzeczności językowej. W kolejnym kroku dokładnie opisano krytykę tych pierwszych podejść oraz zaprezentowano teorie, które powstały na gruncie tej dyskusji. Nazwano je postmodernistycznymi i dyskursywnymi. Cześć trzecia koncentruje się na przywołaniu nazwisk badaczy, którzy wychodzą poza paradygmat postmodernistyczny i dyskursywny. W czwartej części przywołano najnowsze podejścia do badań nad grzecznością językową i przedstawiono, jaki wpływ mają one na badania w obszarze glottodydaktyki polonistycznej.

Język polski i kultura polska jako egzotyczne w Republice Korei

The purpose of this paper is to take a functional look at the culture, literature and language of Poland which is perceived as exotic in the Republic of Korea. In the introduction, the geopolitical conditions of South Korea are outlined, which, to some extent, may reflect the country’s accessibility for foreigners and the openness of its inhabitants to foreign cultures. In the next part of the outline, an attempt is made to introduce Polish-Korean relations on the basis of popular science publications in Poland and Korea. An analysis of selected publications confirms the thesis of the exoticism of Polish language and culture in Korea, whilst at the same time indicating mutual interests and searching for common places in the historical past and in literary texts. Next, the reception of Polish literature in Korea is presented as one of the possibilities of taming a distant culture, as is the history of the only Polish studies course so far at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and the language policy of the Korean government towards the education of rare foreign languages. The outline also includes a description of the project, which involves the creation of a series of textbooks that will enrich the offer of Polish language glottodidactics with material addressed to Korean-speaking audiences.

Celem rozważań przedstawionych w artykule jest przyjrzenie się, w ujęciu funkcjonalnym, kulturze, literaturze i językowi polskiemu postrzeganych jako egzotyczne w Republice Korei. We wstępie nakreślono uwarunkowania geopolityczne Korei Południowej, które w pewnym zarysie mogą odzwierciedlać stopień dostępności tego kraju dla cudzoziemców i otwartość jego mieszkańców na kultury obce. W dalszej części szkicu podjęto próbę przybliżenia relacji polsko-‑koreańskich na podstawie opublikowanych w Polsce i Korei wydań popularno-naukowych. Analiza wybranych publikacji potwierdza tezę o egzotyce języka polskiego i polskiej kultury w Korei, równocześnie wskazuje na obopólne zainteresowania oraz wyszukiwania miejsc wspólnych w historii i tekstach literackich. Następnie przybliżono recepcję literatury polskiej w Korei jako jedną z możliwości oswajania odległej kultury, historię jedynych do tej pory studiów polskich na Hankuk Univerity of Foreign Studies oraz opisano politykę językową rządu koreańskiego wobec edukacji rzadkich języków obcych. Szkic zawiera również opis projektu, w ramach którego powstała seria podręczników, stanowiących wzbogacenie oferty glottodydaktyki polonistycznej o pomoce skierowane do odbiorców koreańskojęzycznych.

The article aims to present the advantages of teaching Polish as a foreign/second language through cultural texts, especially contemporary literature (the study quotes excerpts from such books as Bezmatek [No-mother] by Mira Marcinów, Rozdeptałem czarnego kota przez przypadek [I’ve trampled a black cat accidentely] by Filip Zawada, Prymityw. Epopeja narodowa [Primitive. National epic] by Marcin Kołodziejczyk). The article suggests how we can talk about the Polish domestic space and urban landscape (apartment, house, region) through literary texts. Teaching through literature is an excellent method of conveying knowledge about language and reality, social landscape and culture. According to the author of this article, literature is an essential element in the glottodidactic process.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie walorów, jakie niesie nauczanie języka polskiego jako obcego/drugiego poprzez teksty kultury, zwłaszcza literaturę współczesną (przytoczono fragmenty takich książek jak m.in. Bezmatek Miry Marcinów, Rozdeptałem czarnego kota przez przypadek Filipa Zawady, Prymityw. Epopeja narodowa Marcina Kołodziejczyka). Artykuł podpowiada, w jaki sposób za pomocą tekstów literackich możemy mówić o polskiej przestrzeni lokalowej i krajobrazie miejskim (mieszkaniu, domu, regionie). Nauczanie poprzez literaturę, mimo że bywa ona niekiedy trudnym narzędziem wymagającym obróbki, jest doskonałą metodą przekazywania wiedzy o języku oraz realiach, krajobrazie społecznym i kulturze. Literatura jest, zdaniem autorki tego artykułu, niezbędnym elementem w procesie glottodydaktycznym.

The most important goal of the presented article is to show how the concept of discourse, which can be considered as crucial for the humanities in recent decades, has been rooted in Polish-language glottodidactics. In the first part of the article, on the basis of selected works of world and Polish researchers, the definitions, taxonomies of discourse and directions of discourse research were discussed. In the second part of the text, the considerations regarding how to define the glottodidactic discourse were made and the issues requiring further discussion were identified. The aim of the third, analytical part of the article, was to determine the directions of previous discourse research in Polish-language glottodidactics. The conclusions were formulated on the basis of a critical content study of selected scientific works published by representatives of Polish-language glottodidactics; it was carried out by using the keyword search method in the headlines of their articles.

Najważniejszym celem przedstawianego artykułu jest sprawdzenie, w jaki sposób pojęcie dyskursu, które można uznać za kluczowe dla humanistyki ostatnich dekad, zakorzeniło się w glottodydaktyce polonistycznej. W części pierwszej artykułu zostały omówione, na podstawie wybranych prac badaczy światowych i polskich, definicje, taksonomie dyskursu, jak też określone kierunki badań dyskursologicznych. W drugiej części pracy podjęto rozważania dotyczące sposobu definiowania dyskursu glottodydaktycznego oraz określono zagadnienia wymagające dalszej dyskusji. Celem trzeciej, analitycznej części artykułu, było określenie kierunków dotychczasowych badań dyskursologicznych w glottodydaktyce polonistycznej. Wnioski zostały sformułowane na podstawie studium krytycznego zawartości wybranych prac naukowych opublikowanych przez przedstawicieli glottodydaktyki polonistycznej; zostało ono przeprowadzone metodą wyszukiwania słów kluczowych w nagłówkach prac.
