The goal of this small sample study is to explore what possible effects a political situation and the ideologization of public discourse may have on language and its lexis. Using two corpora, one composed of the 1952, 1969 and 1977 texts characterizing the totalitarian language of the former Czechoslovakia and the other based on contemporary texts, the study compares the seven most frequent collocates of seven selected lemmas (four nouns and three adjectives) found in the Totality corpus and the control contemporary language corpus. The comparison shows that longterm use of ideologically motivated word combinations may influence the associative semantic component of otherwise neutral words and result in change of their semantic prosody, or at least in abuse of their prosody. Hence the delimitation of a totalitarian discourse vocabulary must take into account not only ideologically marked lexis, but also the syntagmatic aspects of the discourse.

W dobie globalizacji, ekstremalnej mobilności i przenikania się większości sfer życia na całym świecie, która spowodowana jest otwarciem granic, migracją zarobkową, ucieczką przed konfliktami i wojną, ogólnym dostępem do internetu pojęcie czystości języka traci rację bytu. Języki przenikają się, odradzają w kolejnych pokoleniach migracyjnych i kształtują w pogoni za zrozumieniem własnej tożsamości ludzi, którzy przemieszczając się po kontynentach i świecie odnajdują ojczyznę tam, gdzie codzienność kształtuje się poprzez prawa i ustawy prospołeczne, gdzie o tożsamość trzeba jednak zawalczyć. Czystość języka jest tak samo abstrakcyjna, jak odrzucenie wszelkich wpływów i zjawisk związanych z rozwojem cywilizacji. Jestem, więc komunikuję. Komunikacja rozwija się jednak na wielu poziomach świadomości. Autorka przedstawiła mechanizmy przemian i zapożyczeń znaczeniowych oraz zwrócił uwagę na powody, dla których język młodzieżowy odgrywa szczególnie ważną rolę w budowaniu nowej tożsamości coraz liczniejszej ludności napływowej lub tej z tłem migracyjnym.

In the age of globalisation, extreme mobility and sharing most spheres of life across the world, which is possible due to open borders, labour migration, refugees escaping from conflicts and war and general Internet access, the notion of language purity loses its raison d’être. Languages permeate one another, reviving in subsequent migrant generations and being shaped in pursuit of establishing the identity by people moving between countries and continents, who find their homeland where daily life is dictated by pro-social laws and regulations and where they have to fight for their own identity. The purity of language is as abstract as rejecting all the influences and phenomena connected with the development of civilisation. I exist, therefore I communicate. One of the social groups which is particularly vulnerable to foreign influences is the youth. As a result, the language of the youth, along with the mechanisms of its development, is the subject matter of this article. The research material on youth language is the publication of Langenscheidt entitled “100% Jugendsprache 2016”. The author presents the mechanisms of changes and meaning borrowings as well as draws attention to the reasons why youth language plays a significant role in building the new identity of the growing population of immigrants or one with migration background.
