The aim of the considerations is to determine whether artificial intelligence units can take the place of humans in administrative proceedings ending with the issuance of discretionary decisions. The author starts from presenting the essence of discretionary decisions and guide the scope of judicial control over them. The presented considerations relate primarily to the potential placement of such devices in the “administrative justice system” that can be defined as artificial intelligence units in the strict sense. Therefore, this concerns devices for which human intervention is usually limited to switching on and technical supervision. However, the considerations can also be applied to such devices where human interference in their operation is slightly greater. It should be emphasized, however, that it this does not concern devices that are fully or almost fully controlled by humans.

In the Quran, mankind is mentioned in many verses with honours and dignity re-garding its creation and position. The human being in some verses is honoured and respected: man is superior to angels as they bowed for Adam as the first man. Mean-while the human being in other verses is dishonoured and devalued; being described like animals or lower beings. The aim of this paper is to deal with the Quranic perspec-tive regarding the human being’s dignity and honour. The nature of human dignity and honour in existential interpretation is seen in self—realization and self—making desti-nation. In this regard everything in the world is in the service of man in making his destination and identification.

Sociobiology, which is systematic study of the biological basis of all forms of social behaviour (including sexual and prenatal behaviour) in organisms, examines the most complex forms of social behaviour and the organization of entire societies in order to discover genetic dependence. It all is fundamentally inspired by Darwinian theory of evolution by natural selection and employs methods typical of natural sciences. Sociobiology is now becaming interested in human being. Fully presented formulation of sociobiology of man took place in Edward O. Wilson’s books: On human nature, Genes, mind and culture and Promethean Fire, two of which arises from the cooperation with Charles J. Lumsden. The peculiarity of sociobiology depends on considering anthropological curiosities (mind, free will, culture) as fundamental in the biological process of shaping human being and regarding human behaviour as the idiosyncratic evolutionary adaptation of one among many primate species. As a result, there is a talk about gene-culture coevolution, secret of accelerated evolution of human brain. The further studies leads to the vision of new human science- the consilience of disciplines that were previously unconnected but their common ground is the mind. That is a new anthropology that wants to discover predispositions on which ethical precepts are based and in that way create a sophisticated form of social engineering. Facing these reflections based on scientific materialism there is a necessity to confront such pressing issues on the field of philosophy, which takes into account spiritual dimension (and free will) of human being as undoubted virtue given by God (Absolute).

Pope John Paul II frequently describes humans in terms of personal being. One could say that this is one of the most fundamental aspects in his teaching. This text analyses the anthropology underlying his papal teaching in the context of the modern world and modern family life. The author emphasizes that the contemporary context reflects a multifaceted  crisis  affecting  humans.  The text explores a core aspect of Pope John Paul II’s teaching in his vision of the family, which is the issue of how to understand the human being as a person. Fundamentally the family is presented as a communion of persons, then a person is shown as the primary determinant in family education.

The purpose of the article is to outline the problem of widely understood conflicts in human life from the perspective of existential philosophy. Without questioning the importance of psychological research on complex mechanisms underlying conflicts, the author points to the issue of the problematic nature of human existence, the category of freedom, the problem of the authenticity of being and the sense of meaning. In the second part of the paper, the essence of educational process in the context of experiencing difficulties and conflicting situations by human beings has been introduced. The necessity of taking into account the problem of being oneself and constituting a human being in relation to himself, the world and others has been presented.

Professional career has become an increasingly frequently chosen subject of theoretical research based on numerous sciences, such as psychology, sociology, economics, pedagogy, and management. Constantly emerging, new theories of professional development provide a new perspective on this issue. A plethora of contemporary transformations obliges an individual to take responsibility for his or her own professional biography. If every person carries out a career, regardless of its quality, and if that career lasts for the person’s whole lifetime, both throughout the period of professional activity and the time of preparation preceding it, one can presume that the choice of career requires reflection and in-depth conceptual considerations, which proves its significance for the subject.

This study synthetically undertakes the main message of the encyclical of Saint John Paul II on the 25th anniversary of its announcement, March 25, 1995. The purpose of displaying and reminding was not only the celebration of the anniversary, but above all the fact that today this document reveals its extraordinary timeliness, perhaps greater than when it was published. Here, the prophetic charisma of Saint Pope John Paul II is revealed. Noticing certain socio-cultural phenomena dominating the world and the ideas in which they had their roots, the Polish Pope decided that it is right and necessary to remind the world about the message that the Church foretells about the mystery of man. This mystery reveals its splendor in the light of God’s revelation, i.e. the Gospel which is the Person of Christ himself. In our time, the Gospel of life sounds extremely loud and requires steadfast, convincing and persistent preaching to the world today.

The article is an attempt to determine the character of the relation between human being and transcendence in Jaspers’ philosophy of existence. Jaspers' concept of existence comes from the anthropological philosophy of Max Scheler, J. G. Herder and Nietzsche's philosophy of human being and is conditioned by the earlier ways of describing human being and it's “place in the universe”. Determining the scope of the term “creation” makes it possible to distinguish between “creation” and “auto-creation” as two aspects of human existence that are inextricably linked in a dialectical relationship. On one hand, the term "creation" can be understood as being created; on the other hand, it can be understood as determining the meaning of existence (auto-creation). It turns out that both “being created” and “auto-creation” are based upon transcendence as a source of all being and therefore cannot be treated separately but only as a part of a dialectical discourse.

The human being is a person from the moment of conception to the natural death and because of that he or she acquires the right to the affirmation of the human dignity at every stage of his or her life. Taking care of the terminally ill people who are in the last stage of their lives has been practised for centuries. This is due to the love of another human being and the desire to provide a widely understood support in the last moments of their life. However, the contact with a person who is about to end his or her life is undoubtedly a very difficult experience which requires extraordinary sensitivity, empathy and, above all, an integral understanding of what the human being is. Any kind of a simplified and reduced approach towards a person hinders or completely prevents the whole affirmation of the human dignity and, as a result, renders a proper care for a person who is totally dependent on other people much more difficult. The integral understanding of the human nature guarantees accurate approach to him or her at every stage of their life, especially during the terminal illness and it should perceive the human being as an entity of the body and the soul as well as an individual in a relationship with other people or the society. However, it seems that it is important, especially in palliative care, to affirm a person in his or her complexity of the natural and the supernatural dimension (mutual complementation of nature and grace) as well as the earthly and the eternal life (from the eschatological point of view). In this way the palliative care is not limited just to the somatic or psychological dimensions but it also deals with other dimensions that are extremely important from the angle of the borderline experience of life and death.

Philosophy of culture as a discipline exploring the way of human existence in the world is based on general metaphysics and philosophical anthropology. Taking into account the formal subject and the method, philosophy of culture is a type of metaphysical explanation that aims to indicate the final ontological reasons for the existence of culture, and therefore it is called the “metaphysics of culture.” The metaphysical perspective of explaining the phenomenon of culture is an original contribution to the contemporary discourse on culture. The understanding of culture requires solving the dispute about the understanding of the world, and above all about the understanding of human being. It is only in such a broad perspective that a fact of culture can be justified by pointing to its causative, exemplary and deliberate cause. in this context, the special attractiveness of the metaphysics of culture is revealed, which, paradoxically, manifests itself in the lack of autonomy in relation to general metaphysics and philosophical anthropology. Thanks to this, explanation of a fact of culture is placed in the field of cognitive realism, pluralism and in the context of understanding human being as a person. in this way, the metaphysics of culture provides a final justification (in the ontic order) of a fact of culture, while culture, as an intellectualization of nature, can form the basis for the particular aspects present in such rich forms in the area of the particular sciences.
