This contribution follows the stream of “praxématique” researches which particularly focus on the dialogue contained in an enunciative split analyzable at the level of the performed enunciation, consisting in the insertion of a second-level enunciation into the main enunciation sequence. In this paper, heterogeneous modes of such enunciative insertions are examined in order to refine and / or rectify the theorization on enunciative split in the description of dialogical sequences. The dialogical mechanism of following text sequences are analyzed: “textual island” category (“îlot textuel”), the confirmation adverb “bien”, the cleft sentence (“clivage”) and the reported speech.

This contribution deals with the problem of scientific identity understood as the adherence to a particular scientific community which shares, fundamentally and permanently, research concepts and working methods of its own. In this article, we try to show the specificity of the work of the researcher in French linguistics in Poland. It results from the differences between the linguistic spaces which circumscribe the theoretical and methodological research framework of French and Polish linguists.

The article discusses the portraits of women-authors of quoted statements drawn by journalists of the French daily Le Monde. These portraits can be divided into two groups. While in the first group, the appearance of the authors of statements quoted in the paper is not in any way described, in the second one, the journalist describes some selected elements of the women’s looks. The group of authors without descriptions of their appearance consists of notorious, well-known and anonymous speakers. In the group of portrayed authors of statements the reporter describes not only some carefully selected details of their appearance, but also their vocal behaviour and proxemics. Described and classified in this manner, the quoted speakers occupy their rightful place in the newspaper communication hierarchy. Some of them gain great recognition and authority, for others the journalist reserves a more modest place in Le Monde. Through the description of their appearance, the reporter may reaffirm their prestige and authority or, on the contrary, make them seem a bit ridiculous, without any influence on the fate of the world.

In this paper we analyse occurrences of the word Grexit in terms of syntagmatic and textual relations. We aim to show the semantic and pragma-discursive determinations of its social meaning, which appears to be vague and confounding. The study is based on the corpus of press texts published in Le Monde, Libération and Le Figaro between 6 July 2015 (the day after the Greek referendum) and 11 July 2015 (date of the agreement between Greece and its creditors).

This study aims to show how the principle of otherness emerges in the discourse of the national written press in France. We  consider that in the media, the Other is Poland, whose social meaning, stored in the collective memory, embraces the extremely negative traits of difference and threat. The judgment of otherness relates to four components of this meaning. Firstly, Poland is perceived as an object whose location is indefinite and undecided. Secondly, it is strange due to its excessive, aggressive and dangerous Catholicism. Thirdly, it harms France and the common European project. Finally, it constitutes an economic threat.

The subject of this article is the discourse of the daily press in Cuba produced following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The aim is to establish the social meanings constructed around this conflict through the process of nomination. The authors analyze discursive mechanisms from the perspective of how the semantic effect is created and functions. From the constructivist perspective, they admit that the media are not a mirror of reality but build an imago mundi filtered by axiological perspectives and contribute to the creation of social meaning. In methodological terms, the work uses the instrument of linguistic pragmatics, namely the French discourse analysis (based on French school of linguistique de l’énonciation). It becomes apparent that the Cuban press favours the Russian point of view with President Putin as the charismatic leader defending against the alleged revival of Nazism in Ukraine
