Bezpieczeństwo socjalne jest jednym z kluczowych elementów budowy stabilności państwa. W sposób szczególny to zadanie wypełniają państwa dobrobytu (welfare states), wśród któ-rych wyróżniają się kraje skandynawskie. Poniższy artykuł stanowi próbę nakreślenia historii i warunków, w których powstawało współczesne welfare state w Królestwie Danii. W toku wywodu zostaną nakreślone założenia duńskiego systemu bezpieczeństwa socjalnego oraz warunki, dzięki którym państwo to mogło realizować strategię określoną już w XIX wieku.

Social security is one of the key elements of building the stability of the state. Welfare states, Scandinavian states including, perform this task in a special way. The article describes the history and conditions that evolved into the welfare state in the Kingdom of Denmark. There are outlined prem-ises of the Danish social security system and conditions due to which that state could develop the strategy devised already in the 19th century.

Bezpieczeństwo socjalne jest jednym z kluczowych elementów budowy stabilności państwa. W sposób szczególny to zadanie wypełniają państwa dobrobytu ( welfare state ), wśród których wyróżniają się kraje nordyckie. Chociaż wszystkie zasadzają się na wspólnych fundamentach, każde z nich zostało zbudowane wokół innej strategii długofalowego rozwoju. Artykuł stanowi ich analizę i przedstawia główne założenia budowy bezpieczeństwa socjalnego w państwach nordyckich.

Social security is one of the key elements of building stability of the state. In particular, this task is fulfilled by the welfare states, among which stand out the Nordic countries. While all are based upon a common foundation, each of which has been being built around another long-term development strategy. The article is their analysis and presents the main points of the construction of social security in the Nordic countries.
