For several years in the social space, we have been observing the interpenetration of various phenomena in the government–family–child relationship. There has been a significant decline in the impact of traditional socialization centers on alternative entities. The circumstances described in the text make it possible to understand different contexts of contemporary transformations in the perception of parenthood, the family and its relations with the government. In the text I analyze a map of the problems of the modern family, which is still particularly important for the child’s social development and shaping his/her attitudes and behaviour.

In the article, I presented the concept of the work of a probation center based on the analysis of legal provisions, a literature search on the subject and research and inspection reports. The aim of the article is to present the role of the probation center in the local prevention system and methodological activities in the humanistic-interpretive paradigm. The aim of this article is to answer the following question: whether a probation center can support the foster care system in Poland and limit the referral of minors to isolating institutions? I analyzed the statistical data of educational measures used by family courts in Poland and activities in the area of foster care. The analyzes indicate that the probation center is an important instrument in the policy of counteracting the phenomenon of social maladjustment among children and young people and supporting families with care and upbringing problems.

W artykule przedstawiłem koncepcję pracy ośrodka kuratorskiego na podstawie analizy przepisów prawa, kwerendy literatury przedmiotu oraz raportów badawczych i kontrolnych. Tekst prezentuje rolę ośrodka kuratorskiego w systemie profilaktyki lokalnej oraz działania metodyczne w paradygmacie humanistyczno-interpretatywnym. Celem artykułu jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na następujące pytanie, czy ośrodek kuratorski może wspierać system pieczy zastępczej w Polsce i ograniczać kierowanie nieletnich do instytucji o charakterze izolacyjnym? Dokonałem analizy obrazu statystycznego środków wychowawczych stosowanych przez sądy rodzinne w Polsce i działań w obszarze pieczy zastępczej. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują, że ośrodek kuratorski jest ważnym instrumentem w polityce przeciwdziałania zjawisku niestosowania społecznego wśród dzieci i młodzieży oraz wspierania rodzin przejawiających problemy opiekuńczo-wychowawcze.

The issue of burnout, despite the adopted organizational and legal solutions, is still present in professions related to the justice system. Probation Service and the Prison Service are professions with rich traditions in rehabilitation practice, and their staff is exposed to numerous loads in the workplace which may result in burnout. To identify its intensity, a study was carried out among 198 prison service’s officers and 201 probation officers using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations and the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale. Probation officers and prison service’s officers experience burnout in a similar way but differ in the preferred style of coping with stressful situations. Based on the intensity of burnout, three groups was distinguished: engaged in work, distanced and burned out at work.

Problematyka wypalenia zawodowego pomimo przyjętych rozwiązań organizacyjnych i prawnych nadal obecna jest w zawodach związanych z wymiarem sprawiedliwości. Kuratorska Służba Sądowa i Służba Więzienna to profesje, które posiadają bogate tradycje w praktyce resocjalizacyjnej a ich personel narażony jest na liczne obciążenia w miejscu pracy, które skutkować mogą wypaleniem zawodowym. Aby zidentyfikować jego natężenie przeprowadzono badanie wśród 198 funkcjonariuszy SW i 201 kuratorów sądowych z wykorzystaniem Kwestionariusza Wypalenia Zawodowego, Kwestionariusza Radzenia Sobie w Sytuacjach Stresowych oraz Skali Uogólnionej Własnej Skuteczności. Kuratorzy i funkcjonariusze Służby Więziennej w podobny sposób odczuwają wypalenie zawodowe, różnią się jednak preferowanym stylem radzenia sobie z sytuacjami stresowymi. Można wyodrębnić w każdej z profesji trzy grupy różniące się nasileniem wypalenia: zaangażowani w pracę, zdystansowani i wypaleni zawodowo.
