We live in a time in which a “revolution” in education is occurring. Through brain research and technology, we have unlocked many of the reasons why some children experience so much difficulty in learning. We know more about effective teaching practices than at any other time in history. Through technological advances, we have a whole world as our resource base. In addition, teachers are finally being empowered to make choices that affect their classrooms.

Aim. The research presents a division of soft skills important for better socialising and being. Methods. The main method was a questionnaire survey completed by 98 pupils in the 3rd year of the mentioned schools. Results. We briefly describe the findings of the self-reflective evaluations of the students of two high schools and how they perceive and appreciate their personality in terms of soft skills. We mainly focused on social and personality skills from several areas and divisions of soft skills. Conclusion. Education must pay more consistent attention to the development of these skills because it is soft skills and their use in life that will be key not only for the advancement of the individual but for the advancement of the entire society. Based on our findings from the questionnaire, we make some important recommendations for the students.

In our report we briefly describe the existing state and tendencies in teacher training for primary schools. It is important to state that we are implementing a vital reform effort in our educational system. If we really want to emphasize the nature of changes in our school system, we need to be focused mainly on the use of those methods by beginner teachers that are not forming just knowledge, but also leading to creative use of knowledge in learning and life.

Slovak education is still undergoing transformation changes. The changes are influenced by objective and subjective factors, provoking several questions, e.g. the ones concerning new objectives resulting from the need to improve the training of future teachers. Training of teachers for the first level of elementary schools of extraordinary importance has become. It is expected to reflect several current tasks connected with, for example, the migration of people in Europe as well as with the preparation for language competence.

The aim of the study is to identify the typology of adolescents in terms of manifestations of risk behavior and to find out the differences between them from the perspective of parental conditions. The research tools are the E.M.B.U Questionnaire - My memories of upbringing, ECR - Experience in Close Relationship, the author’s questionnaire aimed at identifying substance use and selected items of the Questionnaire on belonging to a Delinquent Group. The research sample consisted of 850 adolescents. Cluster analysis identified three types of adolescents in terms of manifestations of risk behavior. Differentiations between groups in the parental conditions were identified.

Recently, a great deal of attention has been paid globally to education of both children and youth. It has been the result of ever-growing requirements of learners’ knowledge, as well as educational cultivation of young people. Contemporary society has been witnessing undesirable actions of learners against teachers. That is why the paper discusses learners’ interactions with teachers and how they are assessed by teachers. The paper also introduces implications for improving the quality of teachers’ interventions in educational processes.
