The article deals with the problem of error-oriented motivation of Turkish students during the adaptation process to a foreign university (on an example of a Ukrainian university). Research was conducted on two samples of first year students: 45 Turkish and 61 Ukrainian students. An error-oriented motivation questionnaire and survey were used to identify strategies for student response to mistakes and the main problems of adaptation. It was determined that Turkish students are more likely to use a Learning from mistakes strategy and are more exposed to such adaptation problems as communication problems with the administration, difficulties in adapting to the new social environment, and emotional problems.

Aim. The primary objective of this study was to analyze the connection between students’ learning efficiency and different indicators of personal perfectionism. The secondary objective was to study the characteristics of students’ learning effectiveness depending on the level of perfectionism. Methods. The participants of the study were 110 students studying at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”. The level of personal perfectionism was measured with use of “Perfectionism” questionnaire by N.H. Haranian and A.B. Kholmohorova. The level of learning activities efficiency was measured due to expert evaluation with participation of 26 lecturers-experts. Descriptive statistics were used to report means and standard deviations of perfectionism scales and learning efficiency levels. T-test was used for finding differences in level of personal perfectionism among students with different level of learning efficiency. Pearson correlation coefficient was used for establishing correlations between level of learning efficiency and different scales of personal perfectionism. Results. The level of learning efficiency of students depends on the pace of learning, the quality of learning, the ability to generalize and synthesize new information. Positive statistically significant correlations were found between perfectionism and student learning efficiency. Conclusions. The study identified that the most vulnerable to manifestations of perfectionism is a group of students who demonstrate the highest achievement in learning. Due to the excessive expectations of others (real or fictional), they set unrealistic goals, do not feel satisfied with their achievements, do not adequately assess their capabilities.

Aim. The aim of the article is to present the results of a study of gender-related features of the connection between empathy and performance of adolescents during online learning. The main objectives of the study are as follows: defining criteria for online learning success; holding expert assessment of success of online learning of adolescents; studying correlation between the level of empathy and success of online learning in groups of male and female. Methods. The study participants consist of 50 teenagers from a secondary school in Kharkiv (Ukraine) and their 10 teachers. The study uses the following methods: 1) expert assessment; 2) psychological testing (Mehrabian and Epstein Questionnaire); 3) statistical methods. The following is used for statistical data processing: descriptive statistics methods (to measure the percentage of people with different levels of empathy and different levels of online learning performance); Pearson's χ2 consistency criterion- (to compare data distributions in groups of female and male participants by all study indicators); Spearman's correlation analysis (to investigate the correlation between the level of empathy and the level of successful performance of online learning of adolescents). Results. During the study, the aim has been achieved and all the objectives have been fulfilled, in particular: 1) “involvement in online learning” and "quality of online learning" are defined as criteria for online learning successful performance; 2) expert assessment of the study results is carried out, allowing us to determine that female participants show mainly medium and high levels of online learning performance, while male participants show low and medium-level results; 3) it is determined that the correlation between the level of performance of online learning and empathy in the group of girls is higher than in the group of boys. Conclusions. The study shows that the development of online courses requires not only the use of modern technological and methodological approaches, but also taking into account the gender-related and personal traits of students.

Aim. The article is aimed at determining the indicators of psychological safety inherent in volunteers with signs of emotional exhaustion in combat zones. Methods. The study included the following methods: a) testing: Emotional Exhaustion Questionnaire (EEQ), Psychological Safety of Individual Questionnaire; b)statistical analysis: methods of descriptive statistics (percentage, minimum, maximum, range, standard error, mean, standard deviation). The group of respondents included 48 people, who were involved in volunteer activities in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine from March 2022 up to November 2022. Results. It was determined that the largest subgroup in the general group of respondents were volunteers with a high level of emotional exhaustion (46%) – these are people who feel general tension and do not remember the last time they experienced positive emotions. Among all the indicators of psychological safety, the indicators of moral-communicative and internal comfort turned out to be the least developed. Conclusions. Volunteer groups need specially organized psychological help and support, just like military or military medics. The constant danger of the activity, the need to be in contact with different people, moral fatigue lead to rapid emotional exhaustion and can causehealth disorders or even cost the volunteer's life.

Aim. The aim of the study is to investigate into the motives of learning that are inherent in students with different attitudes to distance learning. The main objectives of the study are as follows: to analyze the attitude to different forms of distance learning of students of higher education institutions; to investigate the main forms of scientific motivation of students of higher education institutions; to compare how the scientific motivation of students with different attitudes to distance learning differs. Methods. The study involved 211 students majoring in science (physics, chemistry). The study uses the following methods: 1) attitude questionnaire; 2) Science Motivation Questionnaire II; 3) statistical methods. The following is used for statistical data processing: descriptive statistics methods (to measure the percentage of people with different attitude towards organization of distance learning); ANOVA (to compare levels of science motivational types of students with different preferences in educational models). Results. It was determined that 38% of students are positive about distance education and see great opportunities for its implementation. But only 22.75% of students consider distance learning the best option of educational process organisation, and 21.8% are in favor of an exclusive face-to-face format. The most popular form among students is mixed form of education (55.45%). Students with a positive attitude to distance education are characterized by the highest scores on intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy and career motivation. Therefore, proponents of distance education are mostly students who have a good understanding of their own goals and learning needs, plan their career advancement, and are well-organized in terms of educational and professional development. Conclusions. Distance forms of education cannot completely replace traditional ones. But it is already becoming obvious that their use in a mixed format can increase the effectiveness of the educational process. Students' sympathy for the mixed format should be taken into account by the developers of educational programs and university administrations in order to improve the quality of education and meet the requirements of the times.
